The WireTap Studio Editor
The WireTap Studio Editor is completely lossless and non - destructive. With the Record lossless original option checked in the saving pane of the preferences or session window, it doesn't matter what settings the audio was recorded at, you will always have the original audio - at its original quality - to work with.
Use the editor to convert your recording to a low bitrate mp3, add audio effects, delete portions and silence others - then save the changes. Don't worry, the next time you open that file in the editor it will still have all of those changes, but you can up sample to CD quality sound, remove audio effects and restore deleted audio, save these changes and your audio will be as pristine as the day it was recorded.
With the lossless original safely in the background, reverting a recording to it's original condition is as simple as going to the File menu and selecting Revert to Original Recording.
Any file in a format that WireTap Studio supports can be opened in the editor. You will be given the option to import the file into the library to take advantage of its lossless capabilities.
Note: The true power of the the WireTap Studio editor can only be realized with the Record Lossless original option checked in the saving pane of the preferences or session window. The editor is still lossless and non-destructive, but the quality the recording was saved at is the best quality that recording can ever have.
